This weekend I have been in Seattle vistiting family and colleges. For the first time of my life my family took first class. This was a very unique experience. As soon as we were in our seats we had the flight attendants asking if we needed anything. They took our jackets immediately, ask what we would like to drink, what we were traveling for, if we needed more pillows or blankets, if we had enough space, and this went on the whole flight. This is completely different then when we fly in the coach section. The flight attendants are not very polite and just want to get through the flight without being disturbed. The difference between the two are so dramatic. It is not very fair. The people in the coach section should be treated the same as first class even though the seats may not be as nice or as expensive. The experience was really great, and I hope that it is the same when we fly home on monday. The point though is the service should not be horrible just because it isn't first class.
What have your experiences been while flying?

Since I have never been in first class before, I think your post is very interesting. When I have talked to other people about their experiences flying in first class, they said pretty much the same things that you said. I agree with you though. People in coach should be treated with the same respect as those that are being served in first class.
I agree with the original post by Kelly, and Claire’s post. You should not be treated based on the amount of money you spend. I think that taking an airplane is a stressful situation in general. But I believe that if everyone on the flight was treated the same as first class member were the flight would be more enjoyable, and people might even choose to take a plane over driving. I think it would be more pleasant for the people taking the flight, and would help the plane companies improve their flights.
I think this is such an interesting post! I've had my fair share of times in both "first class" and "coach" as well. I think that the people who are seated in coach definitely deserve the same respect as the first class flyers. Although its easy for us to say that, on most flights, people seated in first class are often catered to, even though they pay extra, it certainly does not mean that flyers in coach should be treated poorly, or worse than first class.
I also think that this is a very interesting post. I have flown in both first class and coach before and they are a lot different. I think that the people in first class and the people in coach should be treated the same way just like Kelly said. I mean when i sit in first class, the flight attendants would come up to you and try to make a conversation and ask if you are comfortable. But the flight attendants in coach just go around and ask you if you want a drink. Even though there are less people in first class and more people in coach, i think that the flight attendants should all have the same good attitude towards the people in coach and first class. Although people on first class may get bigger chairs and a meal, it doesn't mean that the flight attendants should be rude to the people in coach. I have never really thought about this idea, but it sure is a good one to think about.
Clearly a provocative post, Kelly!
I would like you to explore this in a way that relates it to larger themes in America. For example, is there a relationship to classes on a plane and classes in the larger society?
