The attack of Ike!

We are fortunate to live in an area where a hurricane like Ike cannot happen. Thousands of people along the gulf coast chose not to evacuate, after they were warned of the danger. It was so dangerous that authorities were telling those who refused to leave to write their social security numbers on their arms so they could be identified. Whether or not they evactuate though, the losses are astronomical!
Can New Trier students help in some way?
There are many ways we can help. Some ways include, having a clothing drive, food drive, suppiles drive, or fundraisers to donate money to charities like the Red Cross that are supporting this cause.
We need to support our country and come together or help!

I think that NT students should definetly help out in anyway possible! It is also scary to think about how much rain we got here the last two days. Texas is far away so they must have had a ton of rain and wind.

A agree with Alex. New Trier students should help as much as we can like we did when New Orleans got hit by Katrina. Look what has happened to the North Shore with the amount of rain we had in the past 2 days. Can you imagine what it looks like down south where the hurricane actually is?

My grandpa lives in Houston, and refused to evacuate during the storm. I remember talking to him a few nights ago, right when Ike was about 30 mins away and he seemed so calm and strong minded. Houston is such a beutiful and great city, with really great people and great food, an I hate to say it but way better than Chicago, and I would hate to see it end up like New Orleans is now.
